Subject: Distribution contains EICAR test file preventing download
I am using CPAN::MINI on WinXP and use it to keep a local copy of CPAN. Sometime in the last 24 hours, according to my Anti-virus (NOD32) an EICAR test file was detected somewhere in http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/c/co/converter. When NOD32 sees the file come across the wire, it purposely aborts the transfer of cpan modules to my system. This breaks the use of CPAN::MINI. Let me know at the cc email address above if you need any further details. Thanks, Dennis McCoy

Folks: I did some more digging on this issue and this is what I have discovered so far. My Anti-virus (NOD32) found the content which triggered the broken connection while processing the following file: authors/id/C/CO/CONVERTER/Mail-ClamAV-0.29.tar.gz NOD32 has since quarantined the file. I had to disable NOD32 monitoring of web activity to get this information, but I have since restored NOD32's web monitoring and had it perform a full scan of my hard drive just in case. Thanks, Dennis McCoy
