Subject: Reference Win32 documentation
This is not a bug. Just a link to some Win32 reference documentation that could help to improve String::ShellQuote on Windows (as asked for in the bugs section of String::ShellQuote 1.04). Raymond Chen: What's up with the strange treatment of quotation marks and backslashes by CommandLineToArgvW http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2010/09/17/10063629.aspx -- Olivier Mengué - http://search.cpan.org/~dolmen/ http://github.com/dolmen/

Unfortunately the rules there are not compatible with how the command processor (cmd.exe) parses a command line. On Windows you have the following problem: - the command line is parsed by both the command processor and the application - the command processor parses the line one way - the application parses the line another way
