Since I've never seen these errors, and these versions have installed
cleanly for many people, I strongly suspect something specific to your
environment. It could be something in your toolchain is broken, your Perl
installation is broken (I know Red Hat has shipped a nonstandard Perl in
the past), or maybe something physical on the machine (although you'd
expect other problems with that).
