Subject: Problems with using the DBD::Informix
We installed a Windows Server 2003 with "Perl 5.6.1" from ActiveState, "DBI 1.37" as a PPM-File from CPAN and "DBD::Informix 2003.04" as Sourcecode. The installation and compilation of the modules went well. But... When we want to connect to an Informix-Database, the script SOMETIMES stops when executing the "prepare"-statement. As I said, the error only occurs sometimes. Who can help me fixing this problem?

[guest - Mon Apr 19 03:31:08 2004]: We found the problem. The problem was MULTI-THREADED perl. When we compiled a SINGLE-THREADED perl everything went well!!! Show quoted text

Within a few days of this being entered in March 2004 (he says, working from memory), we resolved that the main part of the trouble was the use of a multi-threaded version of Perl. The immediate (and satisfactory) workaround was to build and use a single-threaded version of Perl. -- Jonathan Leffler <jleffler@earthlink.net> <jleffler@us.ibm.com> Guardian of DBD::Informix 2003.04 -- see http://dbi.perl.org/ "I don't suffer from insanity - I enjoy every minute of it!"
