Looks to me like your path to the replacement file is wrong. When I run make test I see: per-conf: .aspell.conf per-conf-path: /home/moseley/.aspell.conf personal: .aspell.en.pws personal-path: /home/moseley/.aspell.en.pws prefix: /usr/local repl: .aspell.en.prepl repl-path: /home/moseley/.aspell.en.prepl Still, If I run with $HOME=/bad/path/name I don't get a failure in that test. I'll post to the Aspell list, but Kevin has not been very responsive.
