Subject: Coredump with Cache::Memcached::libmemcached
Hello, We experienced a core dump when installing Cache::Memcached::libmemcached this morning which we traced back to a problem with the underlying Memcached::libmemcached library. This bug is present in Memcached::libmemcached 0.402 but *not* present in 0.3102. The failing test (in the Cache-Memcached-libmemcached-0.020110 distribution) is t/08stats.t (i.e. this file: http://cpansearch.perl.org/src/CAPTTOFU/Cache-Memcached- libmemcached-0.020110/t/08_stats.t ) Running the test with Devel::Trace indicates that the core dump is occurring during a call to walk_stats - several callback occur and then "boom". I haven't dug into the core dump itself, as we've simply downgraded for now and that seems to have solved our immediate problems. Thanks. Thank you for the bug report. Any steps you can give me that would allow me to reproduce this would be great.
I believe this is fixed in Memcached-libmemcached-0.4400_80 (just uploaded to cpan). Please retest and reply (to reopen the ticket) if there's still a problem.

Hi! I see you discovered the new stats API call that Brian added: "/* TODO: rewrite this to use memcached_stat_execute() */" I was tinkering with the PECL/memcached driver per Brian's suggestion and discovered in their driver, they hard-code the stat keys with the result from libmemcached which is broken with newer versions of libmemcached and saw that you have to create a callback now (from what I recall-- I was distracted with other busy-ness and forget the exact details). Regards, Patrick
Please retest and reply (to reopen the ticket) if there's still a problem. If there isn't problem please don't reply (as that'll reopen the ticket). Thanks Patrick!
