Subject: Feature request on the Image::Size module
Date: Mon, 2 Aug 2010 11:26:45 +0200

From: "Jan v/d Zee" <jan.vdzee [...] live.nl>
Dear, I am currently using the Image::Size module to extract the dimensions out of a .png imagefile. But originally this is a .emf file which is currently not supported by this module. Now I am converting these .emf files to .png files using Irfanview. This works quite well but during te conversion, some data considering linetype/thickness/color is lost so the picture partly loses it's original layout. I would like to see support for .emf files in the Image::Size module so that I don't have to make conversions anymore. Is this possible or is it hard to implement? (I have the idea that .emf is a strange fileformat to work with). Thank you for your response. Best regards, Jan van der Zee Conoship International B.V.
Do you know if there is good documentation on this EMF format? It is very likely that I can provide support for it, assuming that you can read the file and extract the dimensions from it. Is it a binary format or a text-based format? Randy -- """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Randy J. Hi Randy, EMF is a binary fileformat. In Windows Explorer I can't read the dimensions (amount of pixels) as I can do with images of other formats. If I open it in Irfanview, then it displays the dimensions. I have found a specification of the EMF format at the following URL: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc215212.aspx I also enclosed a picture in this format. I would like to hear from you if this information is useful to you and if you can and like to implement support for this fileformat.
