Subject: Various issues Devel::Platform::Info::BSD
The Devel::Info::BSD POD makes reference to 'the BSD operating system', which does not exist, it is (at least) three separate operating systems in the BSD family.

Also, there is no -o option to the uname command in the BSDs, or in the single unix specification.  uname -s returns the operating system name.

Also, despite the advice of http://nixcraft.com/all-about-freebsd-openbsd-netbsd/234-freebsd-how-find-out-kernel-version.html, wouldn't the kern namespace of sysctl be a better source for correct platform information?

The -o command is not retained, if you look in the code the value in osname has always been the result of the -s option :) Show quoted text

I don't have access to any BSD platform, so if you know a more suitable method of extracting this information, please helps us improve this distribution with a suitable patch. Thanks.
