The British "thousand separator" is a space " " or comma ",", not a dot "." as the module expects. The British decimal symbol is a dot "." not a comma "," as the module expects.
Though a thousand million is correctly described as a milliard, it's usage is very uncommon now in the UK, and most people would expect the incorrect billion.
The documentation need updating as it doesn't mention the British option, though it is in the module.
