It might be painful (i.e. require extra work) in order to upgrade perl
(will cpanm even allow you to upgrade Perl?) so why output it as a
module to upgrade? (I'm thinking a command line option could turn it
back on, is why I say 'unless requested' in the title. --perl, maybe?)
Here's recent output from my Strawberry Perl installation (I use it to
build future versions of 64-bit Strawberry - it's a 5.12.0, strawberry's
.1 build, MSWin32-x64-multi-thread installation) on my host machine, so
you can see what I mean:
