Subject: relax version 0.80 build dependency?
it seemed to build and pass its tests with verison.pm 0.77 (as bundled with perl)... is the version.pm 0.80 dependency really necessary or is 0.77 sufficient? (background: as you know, i've been working on packaging perl5i for debian and Object::ID is a new dep for perl5i 2.2. packaging newer versions of core modules can be a bit of a maintenance headache, so i'd like to avoid it if not really necessary)

Its probably fine for just declaring a version. I'll lower the requirement. Show quoted text

I chose 0.80 because the new CPAN Meta Spec v2 recommends that version or higher (I don't know why), so you might want to take that into consideration when considering whether its a good idea for Debian to upgrade version.pm. http://search.cpan.org/~dagolden/CPAN-Meta-2.101390/lib/CPAN/Meta/Spec.pm#Version_Formats -- But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
