Subject: upload 0.04 as with deprecated doc update
I just think it might be a good idea to put up a note in the latest version that says DEPRECATED this was merged into Catalyst::Action::REST or some such. just so people know if they find it.

There isn't any way to do that, that isn't how PAUSE works. Versioning is per namespace (i.e. per package), not per distribution. If the old distribution is still coming up in searches on search.cpan, then the only real solution is for those distributions to be deleted from CPAN by the uploader.
