Subject: nobody vs root
Below an issue from the mason list where Apache::Test was a show stopper for libapreq. Would suggest to provide an insanity check in Makefile.PL for root versus nobody etc. Murat --- If you install your CPAN modules with 'root' permissions you may actually be hitting a testing problem in Apache::Test which is required for Apache::Request to perform it's tests and install cleanly. Apache::Test requires that you are either not running 'make test' as 'root' or if you are, that the entire path to and including the apache-test directory is writable by 'nobody' (who it becomes if you are testing as root). I had trouble with libapreq on RH9 and RH7 until I understood this issue, it now installs cleanly on either distro. n. ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
