Hi,
this is Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/553188
Summary:
The OpenLDAP server compacts multiple consecutive spaces into one,
Net::LDAP::Util::canonical_dn doesn't.
Find attached a trivial test and a possible fix.
Since I'm no expert in LDAP stuff I hope you can decide about the
correct behaviour and in case fix Net::LDAP.
