Subject: This module seems to be quite dated
Hi, This looks like a really helpful module, but with the number of open issues (especially unapplied patches) as well as lack of support for iphone detection + other mobile devices, it looks like this module could use some updating. I'd be happy to help work through these issues if the code were posted to github or if I were added as a co-maintainer (OALDERS). Thanks! Olaf
Yeah, its a shame this is no longer maintained. Perhaps it could be forked and moved to somewhere like Google Code or Github?

Hi, I'm the original author, and I haven't been updating because I've moved away from Perl for my web projects. What's the best way to set this up so other can help maintain it? Lee On Sat, Oct 17, 2009 at 5:08 PM, Andrew Jones via RT < bug-HTTP-BrowserDetect@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text

Hi Lee, Good to hear from you. :) There are a couple of things I think would be helpful. Firstly, you can add co-maintainers in your PAUSE account: https://pause.perl.org By using the "change permissions" link you can manage who has access to upload this module to CPAN. I'd be more than willing to apply some patches and upload a new version. My author id is: OALDERS There may be others who would like to contribute as well. I see someone else posted to this ticket earlier today. Secondly, as the other poster mentioned, it would be great to get a copy of the code up on GitHub so that other can easily fork, patch the code etc. This could also be done by a co-maintainer, so I can set that up too. I think that would go a long ways towards making collaboration easy and getting the code updated. Best, Olaf On 17-Oct-09, at 7:07 PM, Lee Semel via RT wrote: Show quoted text

Hi Olaf, I just made you a co-maintainer. Anyone else interested, drop me a note and I will add you as well. Lee On Sat, Oct 17, 2009 at 7:18 PM, Olaf Alders via RT < bug-HTTP-BrowserDetect@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text

Hi Lee, Thanks very much! I'll get the code up on GitHub then, so folks can start contributing to it and I'll have a look at some of the open tickets. Thanks for your work on this -- it's a very helpful module. Best, Olaf On 17-Oct-09, at 7:29 PM, Lee Semel via RT wrote: Show quoted text

The code is now on GitHub http://github.com/oalders/http-browserdetect I've also applied a patch out of the RT queue which is in 1.00 (now on its way to CPAN)
Hey there, I work with Olaf (OALDERS) frequently, and we're both using this module in a current project, so if you could make me a co-maintainer as well that would be helpful (IONCACHE). Thanks Mark
