Under Windows XP (Media Center Edition) using a native build of Perl 5.8.0 compiled with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, this version (2.125) of Data::Dumper does not compile. See also attached output STDOUT=out.txt, STDERR=err.txt.

Hi Steffen, thanks for the bug report and sorry for the delayed response. (I never really intended to maintain Data::Dumper but simply to fix issues that were nagging me personally. But alas...) I have no chance whatsoever to compile and test with a 5.8.0 on Windows/MSVC. 5.8.0 is ancient and contains a *lot* of issues that were subsequently addressed in the 5.8.X branch. I'm sure you are aware of that. For these reasons, I will not be able to debug and fix this issue and consider it low-priority. I'll keep the ticket open but mark it as stalled until somebody else steps up to fix it. Bets regards, Steffen (Mueller)
