Subject: Brackup does not support large numbers of files
While trying to run Brackup on our shared home directory (around 250 GB) I got the following errors: Can't opendir(./willw): Cannot allocate memory at /usr/local/share/perl/5.10.0/Brackup/Root.pm line 154 Can't opendir(./workspace): Cannot allocate memory at /usr/local/share/perl/5.10.0/Brackup/Root.pm line 154 Number of files: 328357 Out of memory! and Brackup dies.
Hi Chris, Most memory-related issues were resolved in version 1.10. Can you check if you're still seeing problems with that version, and reopen if so? FWIW my largest brackup instance is backing up 21TB of data across 3m files nightly, so large backups are certainly supported. Cheers, Gavin
