Hello, My configuration: - OS: Windows XP - Perl: ActivePerl-5.10.0.1005-MSWin32-x86-290470 - Module: IO-Compress 2.020 I tried to upgrade IO-Compress to version 2.020 using the PPM (Perl Package Manager) provided with ActivePerl. I got the following error: ******** ERROR: File conflict for 'C:/Perl/site/lib/Compress/Zlib.pm'. The package Compress-Zlib has already installed a file that package IO-Compress wants to install. ******** I did not investigate in depth. The surprising thing is the target directory. I would have expected IO somewhere in the path such as: 'C:/Perl/site/lib/IO/Compress/Zlib.pm' I have no hurry. Thanks for the module. Regards, Patrick - Paris - France.

Hi Patrick, The file C:/Perl/site/lib/IO/Compress/Zlib.pm used to be part of a separate packagew, Compress-Zlib, which is what you are getting the complaint for, but it is nore included in IO-Compress. I don't run activestate myself, but I believe you need to uninstall the existing compression module, in particular Compress-Zlib, before installing IO-Compress. Paul
