Subject: Question about maintenance for HTML::HTMLDoc
Hello and thank you very much for the module HTML::HTMLDoc. I noticed a few old bug reports (some with patches) that looked useful and hadn't been responded to. I ended up incorporating some of these patches into the version I'm using and was wondering about the maintenance of this module. These are the latest changes I found: Last release 27th Jun 2005. Last cpanforum post on HTML::HTMLDoc Oct 30th 2005. Last post to rt.cpan.org queue for HTML::HTMLDoc Oct 26th 2005 (in#11240) Last post on HTML::HTMLDoc on frankl.info July 2005 ? I'd like to be able to contribute the patches I'm using upstream, but I'm wondering if Michael is still able to be the maintainer? If the module is looking for a new maintainer then I may be able to help (depending on getting the OK from $work). Thanks for your consideration, Peter (Stig) Edwards
Peter, If you are still interested, please follow the FAQ entry for taking over a module on CPAN: http://www.cpan.org/misc/cpan-faq.html#How_adopt_module This module seems to clearly need a new maintainer, but you also have another option you can use immediately: fork the code and upload your work in a new name space. The correct link for that procedure is http://www.cpan.org/modules/04pause.html#takeover. Best of luck! Wes
