Subject: Documentation should include a short note on OpenID conformance
It seems like some parts of the OpenID 2.0 spec has been incorporated. It would be nice to have a small mention about what parts of the OpenID spec (both 1.0 and 2.0) are supposed to work and which one are still unfinished.
As of Net-OpenID-Common-1.12 / Net-OpenID-Consumer-1.11 (the latter to be uploaded sometime in the next day or so) I believe we have a nearly complete OpenID 2.0 relying party implementation. The only major part of the spec that remains unimplemented is that we do not support XRI-based OpenID identifiers... ... which I'm guessing/hoping is a dead letter (and perhaps to be removed in OpenID 2.1), seeing as no XRI spec has ever actually been adopted, and the W3C seems rather dead set against it, last I checked.
I added a section PROTOCOL VARIANCES to the Consumer.pm POD which appears in 1.13.
