Subject: | Case Error in File Names Creates Spurious Warning |
Distribution: PPM-2.1.6
This is perl, v5.6.1 built for MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
...
Binary build 631 provided by ActiveState Tool Corp.
OS: Windows98,SE
Problem:
After downloading and extracting PPM-2.1.6.tar.gz from CPAN, I proceeded to install via 'nmake'. When I called 'perl Makefile.PL', I received a warning saying:
The following files are missing from your package:
dtd/ppd.dtd
dtd/ppmconfig.dtd
The Makefile was then written.
I checked the ZIP file and observed that therein these files were actually named:
dtd/PPD.dtd
dtd/PPMConfig.dtd
I renamed these files to all-lower-case (as per MANIFEST) and called 'perl Makefile.PL' once again. This time the Makefile was written without warnings. I proceeded with 'nmake', etc., and the distribution was successfully installed.
