I don't understand that problem. As you point out yourself, the README clearly says -- This library is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the same terms as Perl itself, either Perl version 5.8.7 or, at your option, any later version of Perl 5 you may have available. How is that not sufficient? _/|_ ___________________________________________________________________ /o ) \/ Mike Taylor <mike@indexdata.com> http://www.miketaylor.org.uk )_v__/\ "You already have zero privacy. The META.yml file form your module doesn't contain a license line like: license: gpl so http://search.cpan.org/~mirk/Biblio-EndnoteStyle-0.05/ just says "Unknown".

Oh, I see. Well, I will gladly fix that for the next release, but "gpl" would obviously be wrong. Do you know what the correct value is for "the same terms as Perl"? Is this documented anywhere? On the perl page (http://www.perl.org/about.html) they write: "Perl is Open Source <http://www.opensource.org/> software, licensed <http://dev.perl.org/licenses/> under its Artistic License <http://dev.perl.org/licenses/artistic.html>, or the GNU General Public License (GPL) <http://dev.perl.org/licenses/gpl1.html>." (so it's the same like the gentoo perl ebuild states). imp

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean to ask whether Perl's licence terms are documented -- I already know what they are, and would not have chosen my own module's licence terms to be "the same as Perl" if I hadn't! What I meant was, is the META.yml "license" entry's vocabulary documented anywhere -- in other words, what precisely should I add to that file to mean "licensed like Perl" as opposed to "licensed under the GPL", which is what you suggested but which doesn't accurately reflect the licensing. Sorry for the confusion. Anyway, I found the answer here: http://module-build.sourceforge.net/META-spec-current.html#license and it's "license: perl". I've added that to the META.yml, and it will be included in the next release. _/|_ ___________________________________________________________________ /o ) \/ Mike Taylor <mike@indexdata.com> http://www.miketaylor.org.uk )_v__/\ DISCLAIMER -- These are my own opinions.
