When running make test, or when CPAN runs test, Class::Inner 0.1 fails

I am running AIX 4.3.3 ML.11+Post on a RS/6000-42W (PPC-604e @ 120MHz,
128MB ECC RAM), under perl 5.10.0-aix-stdio, nothreads, nolargefiles,
built with gcc-3.4.3, 'make test' fails:
