Subject: COPYRIGHT and AUTHOR
NamingConventions::Capitalization has me as the copyright holder. I don't want it. There's hardly any of my original code there at all. Which brings up the wider problem of the AUTHOR and COPYRIGHT sections. Individual .pm files have individuals listed as their authors and copyright holders. In a collective project its silly to list an individual author for each sub-module. They should probably be removed, changed to "original author" or just collected together into a "thanks" section in Perl::Critic. The scattered copyright holders are a more serious problem. I count at least half a dozen individual copyright holders. This will become a headache later on in perlcritic's life should it ever want to adjust its license. For example, adapting Perl::Critic code to Perl 6. The individuals should be contacted, their consent gotten and copyright assigned to a single individual or entity.

My thinking on the P6 version is that it will be a complete rewrite.

That was just an example. Look at it another way. What good does it to Perl::Critic to have individual bits owned by different people, usually simply just the first person to write the pm file rather than who actually wrote the bulk of the current code? -- Ahh email, my old friend. Do you know that revenge is a dish that is best served cold? And it is very cold on the Internet!
