the filename
CPAN-1.9304/t/CPAN/authors/id/A/AN/ANDK/cpantestdummies/CPAN-Test-Dummy-Perl5-Ma
ke-Features-1.04.tar.gz
is long enough that gnu tar is creating a "././@LongLink" fake file to contain
the name, and solaris tar then goes "no, don't know what that is", extracts
it as a plain file and then exits with status 1, thus causing the cpan
process I'm trying to install it from to fail.
Since the file is 103 chars, changing it from .tar.gz to .tgz should make
gnu tar Not Do That according to kane.
Gimme a shout if you want me to verify a fixed tarball before you ship it.
