Subject: Uses Old Protocol - no longer works with Yahoo IM
I added a warn statement to see what I was getting back from Yahoo when I couldn't connect and found the following: ---------- CODE: 5 RECP: yxes PRIV: 4 SENDER: SYSTEM BADDY: 14:You are using an older version of Yahoo! Messenger that is no longer supported. Please upgrade by downloading the newest version by going to: http://messenger.yahoo.com/ ---------- I'm using Mandrake Linux 9.1 (doubt that's helpful though). You may want to ask the creators of gaim (http://gaim.sourceforge.net) for the new protocol, as they seem to have it working fine. I believe it requires an SSL connection now. (If there's anything more I can do please let me know.)
