Good module. Thanks. Low priority request: it would be nice if there no restrictions on metadata contents (e.g. null bytes, leading "Q", etc.) via the automatic escaping/unescaping of data as needed. (I realize there might be a small associated performance hit under high loads.) Thanks.

hi -- thanks! what I could do is add an optional switch to the IPC::DirQueue constructor which causes metadata to be escaped when written, for any jobs read/written on that dirqueue. sound useful? btw if you wrote a patch I'd be happy to apply it, and it'd definitely happen sooner ;)
