Hi,
While some of the sample files under t/data/ are obviously created
secifically as tests (presumably by XML-RSS-LibXML author) and
therefore fall under the assumption that they fall under the same
copyright/licensing terms as XML-RSS-LibXML itself, the rest of
t/data/ either miss any copyright/license terms, or have only
copyright statements, without any license, making them
non-distributable.
To avoid legal problems with the Debian package of XML-RSS-LibXML,
I am going to remove the test files with unclear copyright/licensing
and also disable the relevant tests during build time.
The problem, however, is not Debian-specific. It is my belief that
right now CPAN (and its mirrors) is also distributing these files
without permission.
It would be nice if the following files can be replaced with ones with
clear copyright/licensing terms:
* t/data/2.0/sf-hs-with-lastBuildDate.rss
* t/data/2.0/sf-hs-with-pubDate.rss
* t/data/freshmeat.rdf
* t/data/merlyn1.rss
* t/data/rss-permalink.xml
Thank you for your time,
Damyan Ivanov
