Subject: Re-Enable select capability like Pod::Text could do in perl-5.8
With the update from perl-5.8 to perl-5.10 in our solution the "modular help output" is broken because of an API-change in Pod::Text (see https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=41995). I tried to create an example how a solution could look like - it's not exactly brilliant, but maybe a start ...

Thanks for the patch! It looks like the best place to provide the general selection framework would be in Pod::Simple, following your other ticket. I'm therefore going to suspend this ticket for podlators until the Pod::Simple support is there, and then will come back to this and add the required support to podlators. I think the idea of using a general solution that other modules could leverage as well is sound.
