Subject: No concept for supporting exe_files?
It seems to me that I have to edit the spec file whenever a distro comes with an exe_file. Then I have to add a line for the expected manpage, similar to the one for man3, and a line for the bin directory and the files in EXE_FILES. Am I missing something or is this just a missing thing. Is anybody working on this? Thanks!

Check out 0.0.7, which should be hitting your favourite CPAN mirror shortly; it should resolve this. This looks to be a subset of the issuie in #41553.
