Sorry, didn't think this was necessary as it will not build on any FreeBSD or Linux system that I've tested it on. It looks like you packaged it on a Mac OS extended filesystem and the meta files are causing problems for make. The problem is that Mac OS X had infected the tarball I uploaded with all these ._* files. I'll release 2.38 shortly to fix this. So, today I learned a thing or two about <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AppleDouble>
