This is a known bug in Pod::Simple prior to 3.06. The question is why the test wasn't skipped, given the logic in the test suite: } elsif ($n == 4 && $Pod::Simple::VERSION < 3.06) { print "ok $n # skip Pod::Simple S<> parsing bug\n"; Could you double-check what version of Pod::Simple you have installed? Could you possibly have two versions installed that are somehow conflicting with each other? This problem should not occur if you've gotten rid of any trace of Pod::Simple prior to 3.06. -- Russ Allbery (rra@stanford.edu) <http://www.eyrie.org/~eagle/>
As mentioned in my previous reply, this is a bug in the particular version of Pod::Simple that you're using. I'm surprised that the test wasn't skipped, and there may be a bug in the test suite for not skipping it properly, but for that I'd need more information about what the test suite is seeing as the Pod::Simple version. Please feel free to reopen with more details if you have a chance to track down the test suite failure, but upgrading Pod::Simple will resolve the basic problem.
