Subject: Consider a bookmarkable URL based on filter settings
As nice as it is to see all the "PASS" lines, I would love to be able to just bookmark the page that shows me the current status of failing test-runs. Consuming the RSS is one thing, but to be able to just click on a bookmark and jump to the "current state" of things would be nice, as well. It seems as though the same Javascript that manages the filter drop-downs themselves might be able to do some creative re-writing of a URL, if one were offered at the bottom of the filter box.
Not sure if this is what you meant, but with the new javascript and cookie functionality I have included a link that dynamically updates depending upon the current settings. You can then send that link to someone, or bookmark it and it will render the page as per the settings selected when opened. It isn't perfect yet, as the javascript takes a while to load the page initially, but it works :) Added in 0.35.
This is exactly was I was asking for, yes! I have noted a bug in it, I will leave it to you to decide if it falls under this ticket or deserves one of its own: When I go to a URL that represents a specific search-state, the "Permanent" link gets built with two copies of the query string. I.e., when I visit this URL: http://www.cpantesters.org/author/RJRAY.html?grade=3&perlmat=2&patches=2&oncpan=2&distmat=2 The link labeled "Permanent Preferences Link" is now this: http://www.cpantesters.org/author/RJRAY.html?grade=3&perlmat=2&patches=2&oncpan=2&distmat=2?grade=3&perlmat=2&patches=2&oncpan=2&distmat=2
D'oh! I know why that is. Will fix shortly :)
Fixed on website, and patched ready for CPAN-WWW-Testers-0.36 when that's next rolled out :)
