Subject: Dev release of Test-Simple 0.81_02 will break the test t/10tester.t
These days Michael Schwern has released a candidate of the next Test-Simple release: MSCHWERN/Test-Simple-0.81_02.tar.gz and asked the cpantesters for early testing. With this update one test of Test-Trap will start to fail. I'd suggest you two talk with each other what needs to be done, ok? Thanks,
Here is the result I get from the failing test. It looks rather weird to me. t/10-tester....................... # Failed test at t/10-tester.t line 113. # got: ' got: '5' # expected: anything else # (as above) # ' # expected: ' '5' # ne # '5' # (as above) # ' # Looks like you failed 1 test of 125. Dubious, test returned 1 (wstat 256, 0x100) Failed 1/125 subtests
The formatting of the isnt() diagnostics changed to be less confusing. See [rt.cpan.org 33642]. Anything that depends directly on the formatting of Test::Builder's diagnostics is eventually going to fail, sorry. I'm working on a way to lessen this problem in TB2, but tests based on formatted output will always be twitchy.
Thanks for the heads-up! I didn't mean to test the diagnostics from TB &c, just that "(as above)\n", and nothing more, was appended. By chance or design, this seems to be the only place I slipped up. I have cut a new release, in which I hope I have avoided this entirely. Unfortunately, I'm on the road, so I haven't tested this on Windows nor Cygwin. Fortunately, it's just a few smaller changes, so unlikely to go wrong. Still, I'll eagerly await reports before closing the ticket. :) Again, thanks! -- Eirik Berg Hanssen, ebhanssen@allverden.no Just this .sig then nothing more

As I'm not yet in a position to break cpan, I take my chances on occasion. ;) No smoke for cygwin? Disappointing. But now I'm back home, I find it installs for me on both cygwin and win32. And the win32-smoke seems no worse than before ... So, resolved. Thanks again. :) -- Eirik Berg Hanssen, ebhanssen@allverden.no Just this .sig then nothing more
