The POD reads:

There are several problems:
1. "inherent" should be "inherits".
2. "an" should be capitalised.
3. there should be a period at before the closing parenthesis.
4. The second sentence should be in a new paragraph.
5. "underline" should be "underlying".
6. "an little" should be "a little".
So it should read:

(An adapter inherits its name from the underlying data construct.)
