Sorry I'm not attaching a patch, but replace: PeerPort =>'whois' With PeerPort =>'whois(43)' NOTE: There are two occurrences in WhoisNG.pm The (43) tells IO:Socket::INET to fall pack to port 43 on systems where whois isn't defined in /etc/services. --rob
