Subject: Incorrect documentation
The first sentence of the below paragraph was only correct to v1.32. Since v1.33 the default period has been "mrtg". $period is optional and will default to year. Valid options are hour, 6hour/quarterday, 12hour/halfday, day, week, month, year, 3years and mrtg. Specifying a data retention period value will change how long data will be retained for within the RRD file. The mrtg scheme will try and mimic the data retention period used by MRTG v2.13.2
