Subject: different copyright and license notices for some files
Date: Thu, 7 Aug 2008 13:33:01 +0200
To: bug-CGI.pm [...] rt.cpan.org
From: Ansgar Burchardt <ansgar [...] 2008.43-1.org>
Hi, I downloaded CGI.pm 3.40 and noticed that some files have different copyright and license information: CGI/Cookie.pm, CGI/Fast.pm, CGI/Push.pm have a header that says It may be used and modified freely, but I do request that this copyright notice remain attached to the file. You may modify this module as you wish, but if you redistribute a modified version, please attach a note listing the modifications you have made. while the POD documentation states This library is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the same terms as Perl itself. Also the years given in the copyright notices in the header and the POD differ. Regards, Ansgar -- PGP: 1024D/595FAD19 739E 2D09 0969 BEA9 9797 B055 DDB0 2FF7 595F AD19

Lincoln, Is it OK to update all files to have the same consistent copyright/license statement? I would recommend the standard Perl statement for minimal confusion and maximal compatibility: "This library is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the same terms as Perl itself." Lincoln, Could you comment on this? (I had previously typo'ed your address when trying to copy you.) On Sat Jul 25 15:51:21 2009, MARKSTOS wrote: Show quoted text

This issue has been copied to: https://github.com/leejo/CGI.pm/issues/57 please take all future correspondence there. This ticket will remain open but please do not reply here. This ticket will be closed when the github issue is dealt with.
I have made license information in submodules consistent with that of the main CGI.pm module.
