Subject: Version number & Change log?
Date: Tue, 05 Aug 2008 15:21:42 +0200 (CEST)
To: bug-Mail-ClamAV [...] rt.cpan.org
From: Havard Eidnes <he [...] NetBSD.org>
Hi, while looking over the packaging of this package in NetBSD's pkgsrc system, I found that pkgsrc says version 0.20, but CPAN on http://search.cpan.org/dist/Mail-ClamAV/ says 0.13 is the latest version. However, looking at http://search.cpan.org/~sabeck/Mail-ClamAV/ClamAV.pm it says "latest release" is 0.22, but looking at the source itself, there is no sign of 0.22 anywhere, and it instead says the version is 0.13. Likewise, the Changes file for the package on CPAN does not appear to contain any entries for versions past 0.13. However, downloading the source itself reveals differences between 0.20 and 0.22, and an updated changelog. This is all contrary to most of the other CPAN packages I've come across, and there are quite a few in that set... Could you please havev a look at clearing up this apparent confusion? Best regards, - Håvard
The source has the current version of 0.22 which is in ClamAV.pm: our $VERSION; BEGIN { $VERSION = '0.23'; } The Changes file is also up-to-date in the source. I've no idea why CPAN 's website is not updated correctly. You may need to file a ticket with them. Cheers, Scott On Tue Aug 05 09:21:59 2008, he@NetBSD.org wrote: Show quoted text

Uh, which is it -- 0.22 or 0.23? The above appears to be inconsistent. (However, the tar.gz file for 0.22 does say 0.22, so all should be well in that department.) Show quoted text

OK, I'll contact feedback@search.cpan.org to see what they have to say on the matter. Best regards, - Håvard

The current one on cpan is 0.22. The one I am working on releasing soon is 0.23 which is for the new release of clamav-0.94. I should have it out in a few days after some more testing. Sorry for the confusing post. I copied it out of the source I was working on. Cheers, Scott
search.cpan.org was not listing Mail-ClamAV versions greater than 0.13 because it considered the private copy of Inline::MakeMaker it contained an "unauthorized distribution." The most recent release should resolve this issue. Please be aware that the new release is written to the new ClamAV API (v 0.95.1) and requires that version or later of the ClamAV library.
