This is an interesting module and at first i thought it was exactly what i was looking for, but its not and ill tell u why. Since scalar value decays in the order of half life it actuaky gets exponentialy slower, i.e. starts out with a very quick decay rate, then slows, and im sure there are interesting applications for this, but what i have in mind would require something thta decayed very slowly at first, gradualy got faster, and was reset to the initial slow rate everytime the scalar was used in an opperation. This would basicaly be for the purpose of simulating a psychological working memory type model where memories which are rehearsed are strengthened, and memories which are not rehearsed gradualy decay to provide space for new info. Although my ideas for this are still in the preliminary stage I beleive it would deffinately involve complex memory objects, one attribute of which would be the trace decay element set by a scalar similar to how you have done it with this module. Would u be at all interested in producing something like this? Perhaps it would be quite easy for you to do so since u already have the basic algorithm in place. I imagine it may just be a case of setting an initial numeric value to determine the first stage of decay which would be very long, and which then doubles rather than halves. Please let me know ur thoughts on this.
