Hello there, I have been trying to install the HTML::WikiConverter modules, from CPAN, and I have managed to get most components required so far, execept the most important one, the MediaWiki dialect. I ran the following install command: perl -MCPAN -e 'install "HTML::WikiConverter::MediaWiki"' The module then goes through getting an extracting the files, and running 'make test' at which point it fails: Checking if your kit is complete... This is a known bug. Force-installing the dialect is your best bet. From the cpan shell, just run % force install HTML::WikiConverter::MediaWiki The problem is that the feature that's being tested just isn't implemented yet. So technically that test should be marked as TODO (using the Test::More lingo). Currently the test scripts don't have a way to mark tests as TODO, but I'll be adding this soon. Sorry for the trouble. This really is a big nuisance, I know. Cheers, Dave

Ok thanks for your help :) I guess you can close this bug off in that case? Cheers, Dagan McGregor Show quoted text

Yup. I'll mark it as fixed once I get the TODO stuff working and upload the version of H::WC and H::WC::MW that implement it. Thanks for understanding. Cheers, Dave

Subject: HTML::WikiConverter conversion issues

HTML::WikiConverter is mostly working for me, but I'm seeing some conversion issues. Any clues or help would be appreciated... Here are some input and output pages, for reference: http://cfcl/smi_xmw/mediawiki-1.13.1/index.php/Test_1 (in) http://cfcl/smi_xmw/mediawiki-1.13.1/index.php/Test_1_o (out) HTML character entities are (needlessly) transformed and broken: Prot&eacute;g&eacute; -> Prot<C3><A9>g<C3><A9> Links are getting broken. For example: <a href='#Adding_a_...'>adding a ...</a> becomes * [#Adding_a_... adding a ...] rather than * [[#Adding_a_...|adding a ...]] Also: <a href='class_browser.html'>Class Browser</a> becomes: [class_browser.html Class Browser] rather than [[class_browser.html|Class Browser]] Finally, there is a weird combination effect, where: <a href='replace_parent.html' title='Replacing ...'>Prev</a> becomes: [replace_parent.html Prev]<C2><A0> -r -- http://www.cfcl.com/rdm Rich Morin http://www.cfcl.com/rdm/resume rdm@cfcl.com http://www.cfcl.com/rdm/weblog +1 650-873-7841 Technical editing and writing, programming, and web development

Now that I finally have the TODO tests working, I've actually come around to fix this bug altogether. That is, H::WC::MediaWiki 0.56 (which I'll be releasing shortly) now properly supports 'p' elements within tables. -- David Iberri
I mistakenly merged bug #39490 into this bug (#37911). -- David Iberri
