Subject: Storging 1 channel gif images results in red images
When storing a 1 channel direct type image the resulting image had zero GB components but the R component is correct.

I've gone through the quantization code and it now handles 1 channel images when writing GIFs. Added new tests, which I tried on an unmodified tree, which failed, and successful after the changes. We now have 992 tests :)
