Subject: install fail
This is more future request... This module can't be installed through CPAN because of missing gmp.h file. I'm not sure if it's possible to check this dependence. For Fedora is it fixed with installing gmp-devel, but that wasn't obvious on first sight.
From: Earle Martin
I also had this problem; on Debian the relevant package is libgmp3-dev.
The CPAN toolchain doesn't support depending anything that isn't distributed on cpan. The only solutions that come to my mind are a) shipping and compiling libgmp with the module, which is awful and not going to happen and b) Adding checks for the presence of gmp.h to Makefile.PL With b), a more descriptive error message could be given, which could even point at the right packages to install for common distributions. Any patches to that effect will be extremely welcome!
