Thank you for reporting this. Yes, this is a Mac OS X resource fork. Back then I think I was using UFS, which stores the resource forks as a separate file. Anyway, since Leopard’s tar likes to do the same thing too, I’ve added an environment variable to Makefile.PL to prevent it.
