Bug #35371 for MARC-Detrans:

Revisions to DETRANS -1.3 Detrans is successful for MARC-8, but not Unicode. We just want to debug it to work on Unicode. See my analysis of the problem below. My error message reads: C:\Perl\MARC-Detrans-1.3>perl convert.pl --in=TamilTest.mrc --out=Tamil.dat --config=Tamil.xml --log=logTamilTest.txt Tamil.xml: missing code attribute in script element at convert.pl line 64 If you look at the config file, it starts out: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes" ?> <!-- consonants 33; vowels 13; others 8; rules generated 483 --> <config> <!-- the language we are detransliterating --> <language name="Tamil" code="tam" /> <script name="Tamil" /> <!-- which fields/subfields to detransliterate --> VERSUS MARC-8 <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" standalone="yes" ?> <config> <!-- the language we are detransliterating --> <language name="Ukrainian" code="ukr" /> <script name="Cyrillic" code="(N" code="(Q" /> <!-- which fields/subfields to detransliterate --> I think that the program is looking for a code (i.e. escape sequence) to go with the script name (<script name="Cyrillic" code="(N" code="(Q" />) to populate the 066 field. Since Unicode doesn't have one it's wonking out. Thanks in advance for anyone who has the knowledge, skill and time to help with this.
