Subject: New Timezone Request for DFT
I have an AIX 5.3 server running perl 5.8.2, which has the following for the TZ environment variable: NFT-1DFT,M3.5.0,M10.5.0. The Date_TimeZone function is dying with "ERROR: Date::Manip unable to determine Time Zone." We've tracked the problem back to a lack of DFT as a valid lookup value. It appears that this DFT zone is only really used in AIX, and according to google checks, 'DFT' is "Norway; France (CUT +1)". When we added it to your lookup list, things worked fine. Thanks. Chris Kline
Date::Manip 6.xx handles all official timezones from the zoneinfo database, and a few other standards. The DFT abbreviation is not included in it, and I haven't found an "official" list of AIX timezones. If someone can provide me a link to one, I'll make sure to add them to Date::Manip.
