Subject: Problem with area in the range 681-690
Date: Fri, 18 Apr 2008 11:17:19 -0400

The range 681-690 is defined as "New area allocated, but not yet issued". I had a user with a valid social security number that had an area within that range, so they are issued. -- Denny D. Daugherty

According to the SSA, it still doesn't appear to be allocated. http://www.ssa.gov/employer/stateweb.htm Using the latest high groups, I was unable to have any 681-NN-NNNN number pass tests. If you have a patch, I'll be happy to look at it.

Perhaps that page is merely not up to date. The number could have been issued more recently than the page being updated (3 months ago). I think this person is a recent immigrant and claims that he verified that is was valid with his local social security office.

It's very possible they haven't updated the page. I'll need to look for some reference stating it's now being issued before having the module allow it. Without reference, the module would be a disservice if I made things validate because someone says it's real :-)
SSA updated the range, so it's in 0.18.
