Well, the executable bit exists, so it should be used correctly. Otherwise we
might as well abolish it and allow all files on the operating system to be
executed at will.
Having the files in the source tarball executable isn't so much of a problem,
but the installation routine installs the same files executable in the final
destination, and that will cause complaints from users and packaging systems.
