Subject: Bogus "all rights reserved" warning
I've started seeing the "all rights reserved" warning when installing modules. I think it's bogus, since 1) I'm urged to "consider removing it", which of course I can't do, because I'm not the author of the code (though someone who misunderstands might remove the language and think they're now in the clear), and 2) I disagree that any conflict exists. A quick search on opensource.org for the phrase "all rights reserved" shows that it's part of many standard OSS licenses. On what basis was this warning added?

You shouldn't see that warning when installing, only when building as an author, so there's a bug there. From memory, the original information came from Allison via the lawyers? I could be wrong here though. Adam K On 24/12/2007, Ken Williams via RT <bug-Module-Install@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text
