Subject: install bug?
Date: Sun, 2 Dec 2007 02:34:58 +0100
To: <bug-HTML-Rainbow [...] rt.cpan.org>
From: "Petr Vileta" <petr [...] practisoft.cz>
I found your module HTML::Rainbow and tried to install into my ActiveState Perl 5.6.1, but maybe is some bug in install procedure. I use PPM3.bat for installing modules but instalation of your module install procedure fail with error message about missing Tie::Cycle::Sinewave. I tried to install this module but without success (not found on repositories). Manual installation work but I mean that Rainbow module should to work with dependecies at install time. P.S. Sorry for my bad English. Petr Vileta, Czech republic (My server rejects all messages from Yahoo and Hotmail. Send me your mail from another non-spammer site please.)

This is strange, since the Makefile.PL specifies Tie::Cycle::Sinewave as a dependency. This must be a packaging problem in Activestate. You might want to see if kobesearch.cpan.org gets it right. I'll close this ticket now, since there's not much I can do about it. Show quoted text

Your English is great, no problem understanding you. Better than my Czech! Regards, David Landgren

I can't to find module Sinewave.pm anywhere except kobesearch.cpan.org but I did not know this repository. I have problem to install anything from CPAN to Win or Linux Perl last few month. Maybe CPAN changed something or go to Perl 5.8 - I don't know :-( Show quoted text

Are you speaking (or learning) Czech? Well :-) Petr Vileta http://www.zivnosti.cz http://www.practisoft.cz

Dear Petr, I cannot reproduce this problem, and 5.6.1 is just too old these days for me to care about any further. If you suggest a patch that fixes the problem, I will consider it, but in the meantime I shall close this ticket. Show quoted text

Are you doing this based on the envelope sender? Or the remote peer? I hope the latter. If you're doing it based on former, you're mad.

I'm not sure but maybe you restrict your package for perl version > 5.6.x, or you may upload your package to archive repositories too. I used "windows workaround" for installation, in other word I simple copy all files to appropriation perl directoreis and its work fine ;-)

My filter check for "^Received:*.(yahoo|hotmail)\.com" in mail envelope. This simple rule cut down spam for 30%. :-) Petr "fidokomik" Vileta, Czech Republic (My server rejects all messages from Yahoo and Hotmail. Send me your mail from another non-spammer site please.)
